Getting started
For New Students
Congratulations on your place in Social Work. This section is for students commencing in 2012.
You will have been sent an enrolment pack with information on the enrolment process, including an enrolment checklist and orientation details. Make sure you follow all the instructions provided in the pack to ensure you complete all aspects of enrolment and prepare yourself for commencing study.
Please ensure you address enrolment requirements, including a police record check and a Working with Children Check.
It is also a good idea to familiarise yourself with important dates and your timetable.

Further to this, you may wish to explore other opportunities offered by the University, which are outlined in the sections below.
Orientation Programs
The 2012 Social Work Orientation Program will run for 2 days on Monday 20 February and Tuesday 21 Feburary 2012 at the following locations:
- Monday 20 February 2012: ICT Building, Theatre 3, Barry St, Carlton from 9.30am - 4.30pm
- Tuesday 21 February 2012: Lecture Theatre, Level 2, 200 Berkeley St, Carlton from 9.30am - 5.00pm
In addition to your Social Work orientation day, we also recommend that you attend the University Orientation Program, which runs from Tuesday 23 February to Friday 26 February 2010. The program includes campus and library tours, student services briefings study skills workshops and social activities.
Writing skills workshops
If you want to practice or improve your academic writing skills, a range of workshops are provided by the University's Academic Skills Unit.
Book lists, assignments and subject-specific information
Check your Student Portal and LMS for the most up-to-date information specific to each of your subjects.
