Applications

Applicants for the PhD, the Master of Philosophy and the Master of Advanced Social Work (Research) programs need to complete the appropriate application form (Australian domestic student or international student), meet the entry requirements, provide 2 referee reports, provide a CV, and provide a word written proposal (for masters students, 600 words, and for PhD students, 1000 – 1500 words).

This proposal should include:

  • background literature and aims
  • the research question(s)
  • the proposed method including ethical considerations, data collection, sampling and data analysis
  • an argument for the relevance of the study to social work
  • a time line for completion


Local students

You are a local student if you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident or if you hold a permanent humanitarian visa. You must submit your application form and supporting documents to:
