You will need to decide on a topic to research. Your topic will evolve and refine through discussion and thinking (and still more discussion and thinking) into a research question, a hypothesis and a method.
You will need to find supervisors whom you feel you can talk to, whose ideas you respect, who you sense will help you find out the best way to answer the questions that are stimulating you in your research.
To find the right supervisors you will need to think carefully, talk to other students and to staff. In fact, talk to as many people as you can so that you can match up ideas, approaches and personalities to make for a productive working relationship.
Areas of research expertise within Social Work are listed on the Research pages. These pages provide an introduction to our researchers and we encourage you to have a good look, to email, telephone or visit us on campus to meet whoever you are interested in talking to about your research proposal.
If you would like to discuss your ideas and gain more suggestions as to whom to approach as a possible supervisor, or just to discuss your ideas, please contact Dr Monica Wehner, Student and Research Programs Manager by telephone on +61 3 8344 9430.
