About the scholarship
The A.G. Wales Scholarship is open to competition among persons who wish to commence, or are currently undertaking, a full-time Master of Social Work degree. When considering the qualifications of applicants, the University will take into account the degree to which applicants indicate a sense of vocation and an interest in the field of Social Work. The normal tenure of the Scholarship is one year but in particular cases may be awarded to the same student in two consecutive years. If there is no applicant deemed worthy, the Scholarship will be available for award in the succeeding year. If at any time in the opinion of the Faculty, the student is not pursuing his or her studies satisfactorily or if during the continuance of such studies the student accepts any other scholarship or bursary, the Council may terminate the Scholarship.
