Specialty and Advanced Practice

To meet the educational needs of practising social workers, the School of Social Work offers a suite of postgraduate specialty and advanced practice coursework programs.  these post-qualifying masters degrees allow students to build upon the knowledge and achieve a specialty qualification in an specialty social work area of interest.

Specialty practice education is focused in four specialist areas in which the School has considerable academic and research expertise: Clinical, Health, Human Services Management, Mental Health.  Each of these specialties can be completed as a coursework program or as coursework plus a shorter thesis for those wishing to develop research skills.

Advanced specialty education at masters level enables students to develop skills and knowledge in preparation for leadership roles in the field and education and for extended practice roles.

Specialty practice education is focused in five cognate areas in which the School has considerable academic and clinical expertise: Clinical; Health; Human Services Management; Mental Health; Child and Family.

The School also offers this course as a combination coursework and master's degree with Research Training Scheme (RTS) funding status.  See our Research pages for more information.
