Dr Kristin Diemer is a sociologist with twenty years of experience analyzing both case files and large hospital and governmental department databases recording family violence, sexual assault, homicide and child abuse incidents.
In addition to research positions in both academia and across government, she occasionally lectures in family studies and research methodology.

Currently Kristin holds two positions. As a Research Fellow in the Alfred Felton Child and Family Welfare Research Project she works alongside a cross-discipline team led by Professor Cathy Humphreys. The project Kristin is primarily engaged with is Family Violence Reform - Safety and Accountability in Families: Evidence and Research (SAFER). She is specifically researching recently reformed service systems and how they meet the needs of women and children experiencing family violence, as well as the utilization of programs among men who use violence against women and children.

She also manages the Victorian Family Violence Database within the Victorian Department of Justice. This unique statewide database holds family violence data over 10 years recorded through; police, courts, and supported accommodation systems, as well as four years of data recorded in; the emergency hospital system and victims of crime helpline. The seven year trend report has been release in January 2009.
