Professor Bruce Lagay has been a social work educator for over 40 years, both in the US and here in Australia, which he first visited in 1985 as a Fulbright Senior Scholar. He has published in the areas child and family welfare, mental health, juvenile justice, human service workforce studies, and social work education.
He served as associate dean of the School of Social Work at Rutgers University - The State University of New Jersey, USA; deputy head and head of the School of Social Work at The University of Melbourne; and dean of the College of Human Services and Health Professions at Syracuse University in upstate New York, USA from which he is an emeritus professor.
He is currently a professorial fellow in social work at The University of Melbourne.
