Research Units at the School of Social Work

The Research Units at present are:

The Ageing and Long Term Care Policy and Practice Research Unit established in 1994 is carrying out applied research into service utilization patterns in aged and disability services.

The Alfred Felton Research Program was established in 2006, with the inaugural appointment of Professor Cathy Humphreys as the Alfred Felton Chair. The Program researches in the Social Work fields of Family and Domestic Violence and Children and Families

The Mental Health Practice Research Unit established in 1995 jointly with VICSERVE, the peak community based psychiatric disability organisation, which has undertaken considerable evaluative research into aspects of service delivery to groups such as those with a dual diagnosis of substance abuse and psychiatric illness.

The Trauma and Resilience Research Unit.

The Women's Studies Unit, [under construction] established in 1992, has undertaken a range of research and development projects in consultation with community based women's services and made significant contributions to policy development in areas such as domestic violence.
